Educator

Ms. Anderson has been a music educator for over six years. She has taught a wide variety of subjects and ages, from music reading for kindergarteners to contemporary music performance practices at the collegiate level.

Ms. Anderson received her Master of Music degree as voice performance major with a concentration in voice science and pedagogy. As a master’s student, her research focused on vocal pedagogy for transgender and non-binary singers. Ms. Anderson welcomes students of all gender identities in her studio.

While at Bowling Green State University, she was an instructor of lyric diction, private lessons, and voice for non-majors. During the last year of her doctoral studies, she became a private voice instructor at Toledo School of the Arts.

She has been a instructor at various summer programs including Bowling Green State University’s Vocal Arts Camp (grades 9-12), First Presbyterian Church of Findlay’s Fine Arts Camp (ages 5-12), and Interlochen’s Classical Voice Intensive (teaching assistant, ages 14-18).

While at First Presbyterian Church of Findlay as a section leader (2019-2022), she was an assistant conductor of the children’s choir.

During her senior year of her undergraduate degree at Oberlin Conservatory, she was a secondary voice instructor, with fourteen students, primarily theater majors.

Ms. Anderson with pianist/composer Steven Naylor have developed a contemporary music recital and lecture series that introduces new music concepts and practices to high school musicians. Using repertoire from the last twenty years, she introduces extended technique, score analysis that emphasizes audible motifs, collaboration with composers, electronic music for beginners, and 21st century performance practices. The lecture/recital series had its maiden voyage at Interlochen Arts Academy in March 2025.

Ms. Anderson is accepting students (ages 14 and up) for zoom lessons starting in September 2025. If interested, contact me!
